About Me

Hi, I’m Dianna Kershaw. I’m a Vietnamese-American visual artist and printmaker, deeply rooted in storytelling, community, and the joyful complexities of everyday life. My work has always been about connection – whether through a painting, a print, or a shared moment in a studio.

I was born in Los Alamitos, California, and spent most of my childhood in the quiet town of Blue Ridge, Georgia. My creative path took shape at the San Francisco Art Institute, where I earned my BFA in Printmaking in 2014. A transformative visit to Vietnam, my father’s homeland, reshaped how I see the world and my place in it. It was during that journey I began to move away from photorealism and embrace a more symbolic, narrative style that blends Vietnamese traditions with European techniques.

My art has always focused on communal life – friends in the garden, neighbors around a table, shared silences between kindred spirits. I often highlight marginalized bodies, aiming to transform feelings of isolation into visual spaces of affirmation and power. My goal is to preserve the fleeting, the overlooked, the sacred in the ordinary.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my work globally, from solo shows like A Thousand Paths Bloom at Galerie Marguo in Paris to A Life Worth Living Would Be A Life Worth Living at MARCH in New York. My paintings are part of collections at ICA Miami, X Museum in Shanghai, and Le Consortium in Dijon.

In 2016, I co-founded Hi-Lo Press in Atlanta – a print studio and gallery that grew out of a desire to build something open, accessible, and real. It’s more than a space for art; it’s a space for people. Through Hi-Lo, I’ve invited others to see art not as distant or exclusive, but as something that can be felt, touched, and shared.

As of 2025, I’ve taken on a new chapter in my creative life – writing. Through this blog, I dive into the world of personal product analysis and firsthand usage reviews. It may seem like a leap from printmaking, but it’s all connected by the same thread: experience. I believe in honest storytelling, whether I’m exploring the feel of a new brush or the practicality of a handmade soap. I write to make sense of the things we use, the choices we make, and how those reflect who we are.

Here, you’ll find detailed reflections on art supplies, home goods, slow-made items, and everyday tools – always tested by hand, always rooted in real use. My lens is still that of an artist, just looking a little closer at the objects that fill our lives.
